Day 70

A brooch made from a piece of schist rock (I think) I found when I was visiting Roy Bridge in the Scottish Highlands a couple of years ago.  I am one of those people who has to collect rocks, shells, bits of glass at the seashore and shards of broken pottery, I can't help myself. I spend most holidays with pockets weighed down with rocks!
This rock has a wonderful velvety sheen to it and I wanted to make it precious.  I used silver wire and granulation for the setting.

  1. Oh how I love Schist (hmm... my geology degree is showing here!)! It is so sparkly and I love that you have made jewellery from it. I'm always collecting rocks thinking that I will make something from it one day, but I never do! Well done you.
